Depends on where do you plan to live? Any of the State Marriage Laws in Mexico or in the USA is reciprocally recognized by the other country. State Marriage Law in Mexico usually provides two types of asset regimes, community property or divided assets regimes. Assuming you want to get married in Mexico and live in the US, US immigration laws will also recognize your Mexican marriage for the purpose of obtaining a US green card or resident permit. You will need to file for a green card while living in the US and remain in the US for a three month period without crossing into Mexico, you will need your biometrics taken and prove your marriage to the Immigration Authorities in the US. If you want to get married in the US, this is much quicker as getting a marriage license in the US, (depending on the State) is a very quick proceeding.
