Legal Question in Intellectual Property in India
someone told me that I need permission from government to record videos in public places in India and that will cost $ 100 - $ 200. Is that correct ?

Recording a Video in Public Place, do not require any prior government approval. But, if you are talking about some kind of official shooting, then you may need approval of the concerned Police Station. However, subject to respective state laws to which you belong, there is no Central Act or Regulations which requires paying of any kind of fees to take video in public places. Right of Privacy is something different, not connected with fees etc.
