Legal Question in Employment Law in India
in my appointment letter it is mentioned that i cannot work for next 2 years in same industry/competitive industry after resigning from my current company. but, as i am doctor and my profession is like i have to work in same industry/health insurance sector. if i resign from the current employer. can the employer take any legal action if i join the health insurance industry, what will i do if i do not work in same industry.i am single personn to earn and fulfill my needs.

Dear Sir / Madam,
It is none of the employer's business to put down conditions as to what you should, or should not be doing, after you have resigned from the services of the Company. As you have rightly said, since you are a Doctor, you cannot stop working or starting your own consultancy as a Doctor for the next two years. It is ridiculous. If at all your employer ever initiates any action against you in this regard, please re-post your query then, for appropriate advice and guidance as to what needs to be done in reply. You are free to take up any assignment of your choice devoid of any conditions.
