Legal Question in Employment Law in India
My appointment letter said that I would be given quarter in the University campus and so not be given HRA (approx Rs. 4000.00). I was neither given university quarter not HRA. I was given a small single room on payment of 900 rupees annually for 02 years.
Can I get my HRA for not being given University quarter as promised in the appointment letter?

Dear Sir / Madam,
Yes. Since no quarters have been provided to you in the University campus as per the terms and conditions of your appointment, the University remains liable to pay you appropriate House Rent Allowance (HRA) since you are paying for your room.
