Legal Question in Employment Law in India

Dear Sir,

I was working with a Private Ltd. company, where my employer told me (verbally) that at least 1 Month's notice period will required to given before leaving the company but they did not made any contractual agreement or they did not issue any offer letter before joining so there is no legal documentary evidence with them for given 1 month's notice period before resign. Now my question is if i resigned without giving any notice period. Can they kept my salary which is for 15 days i worked there but they did not paid yet.

Dear Sir / Madam,

Since your engagement with the Company is verbal, the employer's verbal intimation to you that you will have to serve one full month from the date of your resignation, if you leave within 15 days of serving the notice to your employer, the employer has a legal right to forfeit that 15 days notice period salary worked against the remaining 15 days notice period not worked by you in the organization.

Regards,
