Legal Question in Employment Law in India

I am employed in an MNC and serving a bond of 2 years. I have already served my employer for 19 months. I got a better opportunity. Since , its only few months left, can I leave company without paying the entire bond amount ?? Is there any legal way to negotiate the amount, since my employer is adamant on paying the entire bond amount. I can send a copy of detail bond agreement to someone who wants to help me out.

Thanks in Advance

Dear Sir / Madam,

I feel really sorry that Companies in India are leaving their core business aside and are still insisting on employees signing a bond. It gives me an impression that the Company HR personnel undertake this illegal and offensive activity of insisting on an employee signing a bond. Play safe. If your new employer wants you to join them immediately, politely tell your new employer that they should be ready and willing to pay up the bond amount to your existing Company if at all you receive a legal notice from your Company. You may also address your concerns with a complaint to the local Labour Commissioner stating that your existing employer is malpracticing by making employee(s) do bonded labour.
