Dear Sir / Madam,
Legally speaking, if your present job does not permit you to take up any other job whilst you are in service of the Company, it is advisable that you explain your financial position to the HR that your present salary in insufficient for you to meet up with your monthly expenses and politely request HR to grant you the permission to take up an additional job to supplement your monthly income. Should the HR refuse, you should see whether you earn more than the present job if you engage in the job of delivery boy alone on a full-time basis. For example, if the MNC is paying you a salary of Rs.10,000/- per month and say your job timings are from 09.00 am to 06.00 pm six days a week. Now if by working as a delivery boy from 08.00 pm to 12.00 midnight daily, if you get paid Rs. 200/- per hour, you earn Rs 800/- per day, you earn Rs. 20,800/- per month (i.e 26 days * Rs. 800/-) which is far more than the full-time job you are doing in the IT Company. So, even if the delivery boy job fetches you Rs. 100/- per hour and you do an eight hour shift, you earn Rs. 800/- per day i.e Rs. 20,600/- per month. So either way you look at it , if you are not too finicky about the job, you certainly will earn more as a delivery boy than working in an MNC. It is just alike to an auto rickshaw driver who earns more than a graduate employed full-time in an Office.
