Legal Question in Employment Law in India
Hi,
My company is sending me for an overseas training for a period of 5 weeks and is asking me to sign a bond for 1.5 years. There is also a statement in the bond which states " The employee specifically agrees to refrain from joining any of the competitor for a period of 1 year if he/she leaves the company". This statement seems to be open and does not tell if this 1 year is from the date of return from the training or any time after leaving the company even after some 5 years. .
First of all are these agreements legal in India? Does this statement need any change?
Please advise.
Regards,
