Legal Question in Employment Law in India

According to Indian laws working hours is 8 or 48 hours in a week up-to my knowledge.but our company management said that it is only to manufacturing company's but for an IT company they have to work 10 hours with an interval of 30 minute after every 5 hours so i want to know how correct it is? I also want the correct law for IT company Labour working hours..so please help me to solve my doubt?

Dear Sir / Madam,

There are no industry wise standard stipulated working hours. As per the prevailing Labour laws in India, the standard working hours in an establishment or factory are 08 hours (eight) with half an hour lunch / dinner break. Anything worked extra over and above the normal working hours will be deemed as "overtime".
