Legal Question in Employment Law in India
I appreciate the quick response given to my earlier question. MCGM, Mumbai is deducting labour welfare cess from 1-01-2008 on construction contracts. Is it legal even though the G.R. is dated as on 16-7-2010? Do we have any legal standing if the matter is taken to Court of Law?

Dear Sir / Madam,
Praise is noteworthy only when it is coupled with monetary consideration. As Dr. Sumitra Roy, Professor of English at the Osmanabad University in Hyderabad rightly says in her book titled - Managing Stress : "Nobody loses an opportunity to win freebees". Everybody in India right from the Prime Minister to the office assistant (chaprasi) is talking about Social Responsibility these days. So officials at MCGM in Mumbai must also be saying :"Why should we lag behind ?"
Sumitra Roy further quotes Robert Eliot, who says there are two rules for worry management :
Rule 1: Do not sweat the small stuff.
Rule 2: It's all small stuff. If you can't fight and can't flee, flow.
So, if you have the desire, passion, patience and the will to challenge and fight, go ahead.
Regards,
