Legal Question in Employment Law in India

I got selected in mmc company nearby my place chennai ..they asking for my original certificates to keep it for 6 months can I giv it and join in this company relse not pls someone advise me

Dear Sir / Madam,

It is illegal and a criminal offense by a Company to retain any original educational certificates and documents of any employee joining the Company. The Company is supposed to only verify the original educational certificates, retain photocopies thereof, and immediately return the originals back to the employee. Giving your original educational certificates to the Company is neither advisable nor recommended.
