Legal Question in Employment Law in India
I have started working in a private company and signed on the appointment letter clearly mentioning the 4 weeks notice period in violation of it, company and full rights to cancel all the emoluments under the discretion of management, Although recently they have updated the notice policy to 8 weeks and shared with all the employees as new policy. So I am legally bound to serve 8 weeks notice period?

Dear Sir / Madam,
The notice period of 4 weeks as contained and mentioned in your Appointment Letter will prevail. Any upward revisions in notice period by the Company will remain applicable to all those new employees who join on and after the date of the Company announcing the revision in notice period, and will not remain applicable to old employees. In short, unless you have explicitly agreed, accepted and signed that the 8 weeks notice period will be applicable to you, you will be legally bound to serve only the 4 weeks notice period as contained in your Appointment Letter, whenever you resign from the services of the Company.
Regards,
