Legal Question in Employment Law in India

i was working in an engineering college in chennai for the past 2 years. as they didnt pay the salary on time for the past 1 year. so i resigned my job on october 2013. and they didnt oay my 2.5 month salary. HR and principal said will credit the salary when they are paying for other staffs. they didnt pay the salary. when i call they didnt give the proper reply. they are having my MBA degree certificate to show for anna university inspection. now they are saying to collect the certificate. but for salary they are not giving proper repy. what i can do legaly for this situation. help me. thank you...
