Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Israel
My landlord wrote on the contract that I have to pay arnona without specifying an amount. However, the apartment is not a legal apartment it is part of his apartment that he extended and made into small rental units. How do I determine how much I have to pay? Can he make up whatever he wants?

Ask to see the whole bill and divide it into how much he pays per square meter, then simply pay that amount.

No he can not, since it is an illegal situation form the outset. you can either "participate" in paying your meters part to the land lord - but - you have to count on your land lord for paying the whole amount to the municipality - if he won't do it...you may be in trouble toward the municipality if your name is on the Arnona bills...
