Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in India
I have been living in a rented appartment with periodic tenancy. Atteh end of tenenacy teh owner has been asking undue increase in rent against market rates. This year I did not agree to rent hike, so the owner asked me to vacate. The owner needs to serve 2 montsh notice. However, I am planning to vacate the flat earlier. Kindly let me know if I enoy teh prerogative to vacate the flat earlier than 2 months as the agreement is expired and owner has asked me to leave , so I should have the privellege to find an appartment and move out as soon as possible without waiting for 2 months.

Yes if the tenance is month to month and the landlord has asked you to vacate you can do so. But bring these facts in writing and give the same to him.
