Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in India
Hi . We have a shop which we took from the landlord on rent 50 years ago and still we have that . Now the landlord has died , then his son died and now his son died. They have also stopped coming and taking rent. But the property is calling of his name ( we checked in the municipal committee ) now can we transfer the shop to our name as the shop bill is also coming on my dads name from the last 20 years... This property is in Punjab

The legal heirs have the right to claim in place of land lord not the tenant.
