Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in
I am a tenant since birth in a rented accomodation in Mumbai for the last 35 years. My family has been living in this room for more than 55 years. Now the building is in a dilapidated condition. Letters to the landlord and BMC have not yielded any results. The BMC has put a 'unsafe for habitat' notice on the building. The landlord has replied that we should vacate the premises and look for alternate accomodation and we would be responsible in the event of any mishap. What are my rights as a tenant? What happens in case of any mishap?

you may move the court for seeking directions against the landlord for repairing the building, if possible.
