Legal Question in Legal Ethics in India
My Employer (Pvt Ltd Co.) did not mention Professional Tax (hereafter referred as PT) on Salary Break Up, Appointment Order, Offer Letter or on any documents. All of a sudden it wants to register for PT and want to deduct for the same from the salary it has promised to pay (on papers as well). Kindly let me know the solution and the way on how I could talk to my Director (who is very keen on deducting from our salaries) as well. And what do I do if he still wants to deduct from the promised salary (Salary Offered). Thank you so much.

Dear Sir / Madam,
Profession Tax (PT) deduction of Rs. 250/- is a statutory liability and has to be deducted by the employer from an employee's salary if it equals to or exceeds Rs. 5,000/- per month.
