Legal Question in Legal Ethics in India

my father is an autodriver, aged 61y. we are residing near by railway station. He has railway station auto token, so he used to go railway station in the morning and evening to take passengers. He used to take rest in the afternoon timings 12-4 pm. One day a woman came to railway station and she said she lost her gold in an auto and said that is my father auto. She complained that she lost as getting in an auto at 2:30 pm and get down after sometime she forget in an auto while she was giving money to the autodriver in back seat. She complained the false case on my father, as he was taking rest at that time in the house and police are believe that we are not in the case as he was not taken her by auto, but as she complained they put case as she said and crying at SP, so what we have to take up necessary action on this false case. How to proceed/tell that police to investigate her and get truth and remove case from my father as it is false one.

Dear Sir / Madam,

You should file your father's written statement in the Police station stating the actual facts and take the Police Station Sub-Inspector's signature and stamp as acknowledgement; and leave it to the woman to take the case further with the Police to the Court.
