Legal Question in Legal Ethics in India

Hi, I am a female employee and I have recently joined a private company in Gurgaon, India. My boss who is a Vice President with the company has been bullying and harassing not just me, but most of the fellow colleagues. He shouts and abuses sometimes in groups and other times to specific individuals. He asks us to work overtime, just to fulfill his whims and fancies, without any business case given for the overtime. It is as bad as this, that if someone commits a mistake, he asks that person to stand and perform his 8 hour duty, and doesn't let him sit on a chair. This is getting frustrating and harassing for me by each passing day and I have never seen these practices in any other company that I have worked before. Please advice in this case, can any employee take a legal action against our boss? Also, since all of us feel this way, can we go on a mass strike or something of that sort to show our resentment.

Dear Madam,

Yes, as an employee, you certainly have the legal right to individually or collectively voice your concerns against the alleged whimsical inhuman approach and attitude of the boss to the Chairman or CEO of the Company. Going on a mass strike will result in loss of pay, which for this petty matter, is neither advisable nor recommended.
