Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in India
dear sir, I am a practicing pediatrician working as an assistant professor in a private medical college for the past 2 years and currently about to leave the job( resignation given on 23/2/16 and serving notice period for 2 months).I am about to go abroad for my higher studies by may..On 6/2/116 , i had admitted a case at around 5 am in picu which was a serious case and later at 7 am on the same day referred the child to a higher centre as the parents were willing. child died after 5 days at the higher centre and parents accepted the bad news. They did not have any further problems about treatment at my centre or the higher centre. However, on 25/03/2016, that is almost 50 days after the event, my hospital sent me a memo stating that i didnt treat the case properly and have asked me for an explanation. There has been no complaints from the patient party. I feel this is an attempt not to give my relieving order and experience letter and affect my trip abroad. i am about to reply to the memo, but i want to know wherher they can hinder my trip by lodging an fir or starting an enquiry
