Apartment Lease When Visa Expires

My Lease expires on Oct 31. My Visa for stay in the US expired on September 15th. I gave notice to the apartment management on Aug 15th regarding vacating the apartment on 15th september. I have paid the entire rent for the month of september. Legally is it required for me to pay the rent for October since my Visa for staying in the US has expired?

Yep. If the lease requires payment through 10.99, you have to pay the rent. Now, whether they can collect it if you refuse to pay is another matter. Most apt. complexes do not go to Aus or NZ to collect unpaid rent.
