Legal Question in Real Estate Law in India
I bought a flat in Panvel, Maharashtra from my builder and all the payments related to the same have been completed. Now I have received property tax bill for my flat which still is in the name of the builder. When I approached the municipality office, I was told that along with some documents they will require a fee of Rs 1500/- for the required name change.
Please advise, who is liable to pay for the aforementioned charges, the buyer or the builder.

Dear Sir / Madam,
Do not be penny wise, pound foolish. Pay this nominal fee as required by law to the Municipal Office and get the Property Tax receipt in your name.
