you can execute a power of attorney in favour of your son or next relative in case you do not want to compromise the matter.
you may request for mediation settlement, if interested where in you make an attempt to settle the matter by direct talking to opposite party in the presence of mediator and you may your own decision, the mediator persuades the parties to logical settlement.
If you do not like it, you may reject the settlement and there will be no impact on the case
Compromise is the best solution; you may consider concilliation or mediation as one of the methods for compromise; however, it may be better if you can reach an out of court settlement.
