Dear Sir / Madam,
Verbal transactions are not recognized by law. Even though 50 years old, there will be a record with the District Tehsildar that your grandfather has purchased the agricultural land from Mr. Narsinghram and you need to trace it out.
You will need to file a writ petition with the Special District Magistrate to determine the exact owner of the agricultural land in the record of the District Tehsildar.
