Legal Question in Real Estate Law in India
My grandfather passed away in 1993 and the house (in Delhi, India) where we are staying currently is in his name as of date. Now we are planning to renovate the same for which we wanted to change the ownership to the legal heir. While browsing through various blogs, I have understood that in such cases the property would be divided among Class 1 Heirs (Mother, widow wife, sons and daughters). At the time of my grandfather's death, his mother was alive but now when we are going for change of ownership she is not anymore (passed away in 1996). My query is, now who all would be considered as legal heir of the house? Alive Class 1 Heirs as on date (Widow wife, 2 sons and 1 daughter)

yes, you are class 1 heirs and you may go for succession petition. Where is the property situated in Delhi?
