hello,my grandmother(she is still alive ) owns and brought a flat under pagdi system in south mumbai in 2010.can the flat be transferred on my name?(i am her grand daughter and she willing to gve the flat on my name).what will be the requirements,because some people are saying that under pagdi the property cannot be transferred and i will not be able to sell the property later on,but only will be able to stay there.please advice
i want to add in some more details-
1. my grandmom had an agreement done in the court while purchasing the house.
2.will i have to pay any transfer fees as such?

Dear Madam,
As already advised, you should obtain your grandmother's written consent signifying her intent to transfer the tenancy rights in your name, get it stamped and registered, and request the landlord to transfer the tenancy in your name. Transfer fees will be as stipulated and agreed with the landlord.
