Legal Question in Real Estate Law in India

Can I hold the property which is under my control for more than 40 years. Actually the property is in the name of my grandfather, who died before 40 years, unfortunately I do not have his death certificate. If possible please help me ,what are the possible ways to sell it? Appreciate your response!!!

The question is whether there is any objection by anyone. The problem is the purchaser may demand the documents of the property. Generally, if you are residing their for 40 years, you tend to get the property.

Dear Sir / Madam,

You can only sell a property provided the title of ownership of that property is in your name. If your grandfather has left behind his Will, the beneficiary named in his Will is entitled to the title of the property vide a Probate from the Court. In the absence of his Will, the title of the property vests in your grandmother.
