Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Trinidad and Tobago

hi, in a joint tenancy, if one tenant dies, and his son continues to occupy part of the land with a house for 25yrs...he leaves but has immigrants living in that house, is he entitled to any claims for the land?

When a joint tenant dies the surviving tenant(s) becomes the owner(s) of the property.
