Legal Question in Real Estate Law in India
I am an NRI in UAE and just wanted to know that one of my local friend wants to buy land in india, can a foreigner purchase land in India ? if yes what is the procedure etc.

Dear Sir / Madam,
An NRI - Non Resident Indian is an Indian and is not a foreign citizen. You can purchase land in your name either by you in person, or through a registered Power of Attorney given by you to a family member to complete the transaction on your behalf

An NRI, even if he not Indian Citizen, can buy land in India. Albeit they can't buy Agricultural land.
