Legal Question in Real Estate Law in India

.the owner has died n hence her wife owns shop. now the son in law of this women(landlord ) is giving threats. he is asking to evict or he would do wrong ways to evict shop.he is asking for 1 year agreement but we dont want to get into that . please tell what we shouid do.we want shop for atleast 6 years more. we rent shop from 21 years . what should we do

approach the court for a stay of eviction and also start depositing the rent in the court.

The previous Landlord-Tenant relationship has ceased to exist since 1985, and it has been replaced by the Licensor-Licensee relationship controlled by an Agreement for Leave and License (ALL) of fixed time duration ranging from 11 months to 3 years. It is in your interest to enter into the ALL, rather than face "trespassing" proceedings with the Police and the Court.
