Legal Question in Real Estate Law in India

My parents planned to buy a house through an agent that was under the property of the bank. The agent was in touch with a builder group, and my parents paid 1.5 lakhs to the agent and 4 lakhs to the builder group, all in check. Later the builder group turned out to be a scam, and are now in jail and a common case of all duped people is filed against them. The agent requested my parents to file the claim on his behlaf as they are the rightful owners to the claim, and they did. But now the agent is now repaying the 1.5 lakhs that he owes, and is making my parents go round and round and delaying it now over 9months. Given this scenario, what can one do? Can my parents go to court, then which court district cout? Will they need to find their own lawyer or will the court appoint one. Can the agent pay money to police officers and harras my parents? Can he file a counter case against my parents for harrasments and making their life difficult? Please advice

Dear Madam,

Your parents should give the agent an ultimatum to repay the amount by a fixed date, else you should straightaway lodge an FIR against the agent in the nearest Police Station. If no police action is initiated within 3 days of lodging the FIR, please repost query again for action.
