Legal Question in Real Estate Law in India
Hi
I have a piece of land in himachal pradesh. 5 years ago a man had approached me to buy it . he paid the token money and was supposed to pay the rest within a stipulated time. all this is mentioned in the legal document. the man never came back with the rest of the money promised and hence the token money got seized(byana). he has now approached after a span of 5 years and is asking to negotiate else he would sue me. do i have something to worry here?

Dear Sir / Madam,
Token money (bayana) is forfeited at the behest of the seller, if a property deal does not go through. The person's threat that he / she will file a performance suit is baseless and meaningless.
Regards,
