Legal Question in Real Estate Law in India

Hi, I am from Pune, Maharashtra - India. I want to know how to remove an old lien on property. The lien is on our ancestral property. The amount was taken in 1945. As per my uncle the amount was paid in court in 1968, but we do not have any receipts or record for the same. We do not know the lender / his address etc... The lender must have dead by now. Now I want to know what is the procedure to remove the lien from the property. Any directions will help.

Are u residing in that property now? If yes, you have a good chance to get the remedy in absence of any receipt or record. A suit for declaration in civil court can be filed.
