Renting a home in Chennai. Can I avoid Rent Control Laws by having a Leave & License agreement for a house in Chennai instead of the Lease Agreement.
Is Leave & Licence agreement valid for a house in chennai. I want to avoid being subjected to Rent Control Laws.

If your building is more than 5 years old, you cannot avoid rent control laws in Chennai. Further, Leave & Licence agreements are treated as Rental /Lease Agreements in Chennai. However, such agreements are used by malls in Chennai for renting their shops.
