Legal Question in Real Estate Law in India
Sir, we are having ancestor property about 90 years old. My grandfather has rented one section of the property for rs 30 about 50 years back. Now for the last 7 years tenants has not paid single rent and living freely. Please state what are legal rights available for landlords if we need the possession of the property back?

Dear Sir / Madam,
This is precisely why the Landlord-Tenant relationship has been abolished in 1985 and has been replaced by the Licensor-Licensee relationship governed by the Agreement for Leave and License (ALL) with a fixed time duration ranging from 11 months to 3 years. You will have to tell the Licensee to pay the prevailing market rate of lease charges, else vacate the place. You may need to file a Police complaint and initiate eviction proceedings in the Court.
Regards,
