I i want to start a restaurant on a rent basis for 3 years on a residential property. Is it compulsory for the owner to convert the usage of the property. If yes then how much would be the charges and is there any way to avoid the expenses? Kindly advice

Dear Sir / Madam,
Usually, change of user is prohibited in a residential property. You should be ideally starting the restaurant in an existing shop / office in the residential property, where there is no question of change of user. Otherwise, you should ensure that the Owner of your premises obtains prior written permission (No Objection Certificate) from the Society permitting you to carry out the restaurant business, before you take the premises on lease and invest your monies in the furnishing and decor.
