Legal Question in Real Estate Law in India
We are staying in a paagdi system in south Mumbai. Recently the landlord has shown interest in redevelopment of our old building. We currently stay in 2 joined flats with a total area approx 400 sq ft. The landlord is offering each tenant of our building 400 sq ft flats after redevelopment. In our case the the total area which we would be getting is 800 sq ft. We would like to know if we would be eligible for 1 flat of 800 sq ft or 2 separate flats of 400 sq ft each. Also currently we have a single rent receipt on my fathers name which clearly has mention of both the flat numbers in it. Would having a single rent receipt cause any disadvantage to us. Also the landlord is not giving us any parking space, would the old tenants be illegible for parking after redevelopment.
