Legal Question in Real Estate Law in India
we have been tenants of a flat for about 30 years and have paid our rent periodically. The society we live in is planning a reconstruction and as a result we fear that our landlord wont give us possession of the house after the building is reconstructed. what are our rights to settle this issue and withhold the reconstruction of the building to protect our rights until an agreement is reached. we stay at Mumbai suburban area

Dear Sir / Madam,
As tenants, you have the right to an equal or more area of your tenement in the redeveloped building, which the landlord cannot deprive you of. You should negotiate with the landlord and the builder about the same.
