Legal Question in Sexual Harassment in India

I am being implicated in a case of forcible sexual contact. The complainant is a man. He and his wife had a domestic conflict. I am a good friend of the wife and he suspects us of having an affair. He called me to abuse me and I did not stay silent. Now he has been making rounds of police stations and complaining to them that I forced his wife into a physical relationship with me and that I am a threat to him and his son. WHat should be my next course of action ?

Merely on the basis of complaint, police is not going to lodge an FIR. It will first investigate the matter. If there is nothing between you, nothing to worry. Its not easy to prove adultery.
