i'm a member of co op hsg society in Mumbai.& want to transfer my rites etc to my son .I applied to society but they told me to produce receipt of STAMP DUTY paid .
As I understand there is NO STAMP DUTY to be paid for transfer within blood relation in case of co op hsg society. Is it correct ? pl guide with ref.

You need to execute a Gift Deed, and it needs to be registered. Stamp Duty payable is about 1% of the market value + Registration Fees.
Contact a lawyer, within your area, who can draw up the Gift Deed.
