Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in India

Dear Sir,

Law Guru has been a great blessing to many. I have received many legal advice and guidance. I recently posted a question about appointing new trustee in the trust for which i got a satisfactory answer.

Now, the situation is little more complicated, one of the trustees who turned against us, stole our trust deed and not returning, he might destroy it. We have come to know that he has done it, but we do not have enough evidence to confront or take action.

He is thinking we would be paralyzed if he retains / destroys that document. Lets make it a situation that the trust deed is lost and we do not have a copy of it.

What should i do? I do want to have it for opening bank a/c, auditing etc. Please help me in this panicking situation.

Awaited an early reply,

Caleb

Dear Caleb,

As the leading attorney on Lawguru with the maximum points globally, I thank you for your compliments.

If the Trust is registered, you can obtain a certified copy from the Office where you registered it ... either with the Charities Commissioner if it is a Charitable Trust or the Registrar of Companies if it was an Association of Persons (AOP) or the Registrar of Co-operative Societies if it was registered as a Society.

Regards,
