Hi, My name is Divya Patil. My mother is a widow her name is Nisha Patil and currently we are staying at my grandmother's place since 25+ years. My grandmother passed away in 2004. The property papers are on my grand mother's name. My grandmother has 5 children, 2 sons, 1 son is dead, 1 daughter and my mother as her daughter. Now my 2 uncle's are troubling me and my mother and saying to move out of the property saying we have no right to stay. I want to change the name on electricity bill and ownership to my aunty's name (daughter of grandmother and sister of my mother) . but both uncles are not ready to give us any signatures. We have ration card made by my grandmother it has my name, my mother's name and my aunt's name. It does not have my 2 uncle's name and 1 uncle's name who us dead. My uncle who passed away his family (wife and kids) are not traceable, they left the country and we have no contact with them. Please tell me what to do.

According to an Electricity Act 2003, that you cannot do the Electricity Khata (Get the Memorandum Of Change Of Name to the premises), unless legally give an appropriate permission for such change of name to a person from said department).
