Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in India

Hi,

I am from India. My grandmother died a few months back without making a proper will. After her death all her jewelry( which is quiet expensive ) is still lying with my uncle and he refuses to share it or even talk to us on that matter. Just wanted to know if there are any laws to support us on the same. I would also like to mention that legally HE IS NOT HER SON he was adopted by a family member soon after he was born. He also has a different surname. Is their any thing we could do to get out fair share?
