Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in India

I had purchased farm land in my grandmother's name 10 years back and

My grandmother died intestate leaving her farm land without any will. We transferred the title to my father and his siblings signed a release deed. Since my father acquired the property from his mother I understand that it as good as his self acquired property. Is this a right understanding?

How do I transfer this property title to my name, which is the best option - through a will or a gift deed. Consider this is a farm land in Karnataka, India. would any of my siblings have a right on this farm land?

Dear Sir / Madam,

If the property stands registered in the name of your father in the record of the Tehsildar / District Registrar, if you have paid the entire purchase consideration for the farm land, it is advisable that you coax your father to register a Gift Deed transferring the title of the property in your name right away, as a Will has to be backed by a Probate from the Court for transfer of title after the demise of the Testator.
