Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in India

I am given to understand that probate in respect of transfer of property which is already included in the will of the deceased is applicable only in METROPOLITAN CITIES of INDIA ( DELHI, CHENNAI, KOLKATA & MUMBAI). In all areas other than those mentioned here, this is not mandatory.

I would like to know the law (with section details) which states the above

Dear Sir / Madam,

The rule regarding Probate to be obtained from the Court on a Will is uniform across the Union of India. (Section 374 of the Indian Succession Act).
