Should a judge recuse himself if he recommended the plaintiff to sit for the BAR, when the plaintiff's case addresses slander and libel affecting his standing with the BAR?

What you have described in this post, in itself, is probably insufficient grounds for the judge to recuse himself from the case. You would need to discuss the situation in depth with your attorney to determine the proper course of action. However, if the judge has a close personal relationship with the attorney outside of the courtroom, that could create a conflict of interest that would require the judge to recuse himself from the case.
