Legal Question in Business Law in Alabama
business contracts
I signed a contract with a company for my retail store for a buydown program. I did not receive a copy of the contract at the time of signing, nor have I received a copy since. Since the refer to ''the contract'' when discussing business issues, I have nothing to look at. Is it legal in the state of AL. to not provide a copy of a signed contract at the time it is signed?

Re: business contracts
As a signatory to the agreement you certainly have a right to not only a copy, but an original if it was signed in "duplicate" at the time of execution.
Assuming only one original document was prepared and signed, you should have received a copy at the time of the signing.
Was either side represented by an attorney, or was an attorney asked by both sides to prepare the document for signing. If so, contact their office and request a copy, otherwise insist that the party currently holding the document provide you a copy with all signatures attached as well. good luck and have a blessed week, Chip
