Legal Question in Business Law in Alabama
What does your business name mean?
My salon has been in business for 8 years. Another business is moving into our old location using our same name. Can they do this? City Hall says yes? Please advise.

Re: What does your business name mean?
If you are not incorporated or do not have a trademark or servicemark for your name, there may not be anything to lawfully bar the new company from using the same name you have been using for your salon for the last eight years. If the new company provides the same service and is generating profit from your name and the business reputation you have created in your community, you could consider initiating a request for protective relief in the form of an injunction.
