Are certificates of organizations only applicable to corporations, or are they necessary for LLC's as well?

When incorporating (forming a corporation) one will be required to file articles of incorporation. When a Limited Liability Company is formed articles of organization are filed. The paper work for both entities will typically be filed in the Probate Court and with the Secretary of State.
